Seventeen years after the terror attacks on America, citizens of Middlefield will come together in a commemoration ceremony to honor the victims of Sept. 11, 2001. The commemoration ceremony honors the victims of the attacks on the World Trade Center, Pentagon, airline flight takeovers and the American military service personnel who have died in the war against terrorism while other members of the service continue to fight. Boy Scouts of America all across America are energizing their communities to ensure that the innocent victims will never be forgotten. “We must not forget all of those who gave their lives for this great country,” cub master, Monique Hornsby said. “Everyone in Middlefield is invited to join together in this uniting ceremony.” Church bells should be heard ringing at the exact times the incidents of Sept. 11 took place. The ceremony will begin with recognition of those who gave their lives and end with the placement of a ceremonial wreath to commemorate past war fighters and first responders who are now deceased. “This ceremony will not only honor those who have died, but also those who live and continue to fight for the freedom of this great nation,” Hornsby said. “As a nation united, we must remain committed to supporting the men and women of our armed forces as they serve with honor and courage, and we must always believe in our first responders because they are the thin line that separate us from disaster.” The ceremony will take place at 9:15 a.m. on Sept. 11 at the flagpole in front of Cardinal Intermediate School, across from the Post Office on Route 87 (Kinsman Road). |

Hello Middlefield, Parkman, Huntsburg, and surrounding communities! We're Pack 3141...the new Cub Scout Pack located at First United Methodist Church on 608 near 87 in Middlefield. We are an experienced Pack that has moved from Parkman to be more centrally located in communities that our boys and GIRLS (more on that later) come from. Our Scouting year has just started and we have one to two activities planned in June, July, and August. Our Scouting year then really ramps up once school starts.
Also...if you haven't heard in the news...GIRLS can now join Cub Scouts!!! So if you have a kindergarten to 5th grade girl (or boy of course) then check us out. You won't be disappointed! Feel free to contact us at middlefieldpack3141@gmail.com for more information. |
